The community that creates together is GREAT together! Join your neighbors, friends, and family and help bring this year's festival and parade to life! Rise, the theme of this year’s parade, is a celebration of nature and community – both thrive, grow stronger, and rise when they’re treasured.

Celebrate the natural world, create illuminated lanterns, carry glowing large scale artist-made floats, and march with Baltimore’s most beloved community bands around Patterson Park. The astounding parade finale includes spectacular storytelling and animation by Dirk Joseph with live music from Natasha Day!

The day begins at 3:30pm with Baltimore's BEST family Halloween festival featuring an adorable kids costume contest, lantern making, hayrides, yoga, live music, an arts & crafts market, and more! Local food trucks and the beer garden will stay open until 8:30pm. Bring your picnic blanket and enjoy the afternoon!

Once the sun sets, the magic begins. Grab your lantern and get ready to march with thousands of your neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers. You can also line the parade route to watch the delightful Great Halloween Lantern Parade!! The route begins at the Boat Lake in Patterson Park, heads east to the annex of the Park, and ends back at the Pulaski Monument for a specially commissioned FINALE on the stage. Afterwards, head back to Creative Alliance for the Glow Ball After-Party!

EVERYONE is welcome to dress in costume, bring a lantern, and march in the Parade.

We need volunteers to help us carry a glowing float, assist with family lantern workshops, or be Parade Marshals. We are also looking for local businesses/artists to vend in Arts & Crafts Market! Call us at 410.276.1651.

Are you a School of Community Group?

Invite us to your school! We LOVE talking about our upcoming lantern workshops in October! We will tell you, your staff, parents, and students everything you need to know about the Parade at an upcoming meeting.

Did you know we provide fee-based lantern workshops in school? Workshops include bilingual instruction about Dia de los Muertos from Creative Alliance's Artesanas Mexicanas, as well as LED lights, and all of the building materials for the lanterns!

Don't forget to bring your lanterns to the Parade on Saturday, Oct, 28 by 6pm to line up! Represent your school with your banner and march with your friends and family together. Meet with your group in our school tent in Patterson Park and pick up a bag of treats, too!

Contact Maria Aldana, Creative Alliance's Education Director, at and 410-276-1651x209 for full details.
