MT. VERNON WALKING TOURS AVAILABLE IN SEPTEMBER

Fall is a great time to be outside. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and everything smells like pumpkin. Why not enjoy the fall by taking a walking tour of Mount Vernon? Check out a few tours available in the neighborhood below.

Baltimore National Heritage Area: Mount Vernon Cultural Walk

WHEN: every first Sunday of the month until November. Tours start at 10:30 am and last approximately 90 minutes.
WHERE: Tours start at the Inner Harbor Visitor Center at 401 Light Street and ends at the Washington Monument. The walking tour does not include climbing the monument; reservations for the monument climb after the conclusion of your tour can be made in advance here.

The Cultural Walk explores the fine architecture and world-renowned institutions along the Charles Street National Scenic Byway. Impressive buildings and monuments line the corridor, from Benjamin Latrobe's Basilica to the sophisticated minimalism of Mies van der Rohe's One Charles Center. The nation's first monument to George Washington stands tall in the center of Mount Vernon Park, just steps away from some of the nation's foremost cultural institutions, including the Walters Art Museum, Enoch Pratt Free Library, and the Peabody Institute.

Maryland Humanities: Literary Mount Vernon Walking Tour

WHEN: Saturday, September 16. Tours begin at 11 a.m. and last approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Tours begin at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, 400 Cathedral Street
TICKETS: $10 per person and can be purchased here. Tickets are required and must be purchased in advance for $10 per person; tour docents cannot accept cash walk-ups on the day of the tour.
