MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DAVID SIMON, FOUNDING DIRECTOR OF BSA

MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DAVID SIMON, FOUNDING DIRECTOR OF BSA

I recently wrote to share the sad news of David Simon’s passing at the age of 92.  He was the founding director of BSA and his values continue to drive our work today.  As many of you remember, David was relentless force of nature in creating this institution that we love.

David will be celebrated in a memorial service his family has planned.  It will take place in the BSA Schaefer Ballroom of the Mark Joseph Building on Saturday, August 12, at 2 pm.

I hope you’ll consider attending this memorial to this man who brought so much to our community.

Many have asked about making contributions to BSA in memory of David. Years ago, David generously established an endowed scholarship fund at BSA to help provide resources to graduating seniors who might need extra help. If you would like to contribute to David's fund, you may do so here.

Sincerely,

Chris Ford
Director, Baltimore School for the Arts
