Volunteers' Collective featuring YOU.

WHEN: Sunday, January 8, 7 PM; elaborate setups should occur prior to start time; please arrive early if necessary.
The Red Room at Normals Books and Records, 425 E 31st Street, Baltimore

Come be a part of Baltimore's long-running open improvised music session.

The Volunteers’ Collective is a monthly workshop with a focus on listening and ad hoc collaboration through the many dimensions of experimental music. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to attend and play with each other.

We are seeking...

trombonists, drummers, phonographers, computerists, trianglers, accordiates, reeders, pickup-ites, bassoids, inventors, guitaries, clarinetines, short-wavers, synthologists, tinglers, talk-boxers, bruitists, reductionizers, idiophonists, timpanists, vocalizers, sound artists, boing-core masters, ear-ravers, etc. etc.

for sublime non-idiomatic improvised music experiences at the intersection of...

noise, invented instruments, repurposing of traditional instruments, free jazz, electroacoustics, reductionism, avant-garde, sound art, danger music, drones, circuit bending, dance/movement, live video art, and unlabeled new experiences.

This is a good time to try out a new technique. Use it as an opportunity to meet veteran improvisers, new players, and recent arrivals to the area.
