Chautauqua 2016: Masters of their Craft

“Taking its name from a lake in New York State, the Chautauqua (shuh-tqaw-kwa) is a FREE humanities program that brings history to life in vivid detail. Join your fellow Marylanders at this year’s event, and meet and talk with actors portraying three pivotal historical figures from our nation’s past.

This summer marks the 22nd annual “Chautauqua: Masters of their Craft” and commemorates the centennial of the Pulitzer Prize by featuring three pivotal historical figures:

  • Duke Ellington (July 8)
  • Gwendolyn Brooks (July 9)
  • Ernest Hemingway (July 10)
