Winner of the 2008 Thelonious Monk Saxophone Competition, Jon Irabagon has since topped both the Rising Star Alto Saxophone and the Rising Star Tenor Saxophone categories in the DownBeat Magazine Critics Poll and been named one of Time Out New York’s 25 New York City Jazz Icons. Jon was also named 2012 Musician of the Year in The New York City Jazz Record.




Based in New York City, Grammy nominated artist, pianist and composer Manuel Valera was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. He has become well known in the NYC modern jazz scene, garnering national reviews and lending his talents as a pianist and composer to such notable artist as Arturo Sandoval, Paquito DRivera, Brian Lynch, Dafnis Prieto, Jeff Tain Watts, John Benitez, Samuel Torres, Joel Frahm, Yosvany Terry among many others.

Cesar Orozco Solo Piano: Jazz meets Latin-American Classics

Featuring well known music from Latin-American countries such as Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, and Cuba among others, all with a taste of Jazz. Italian singer Irene Jalenti will make a special guest appearance.

César Orozco is a prolific Cuban/Venezuelan pianist, composer, producer, and arranger with an innovative approach to a fusion of Venezuelan, Cuban and traditional Jazz music.

Described as having a talent beyond his years by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Daniel’s stage roles include two productions with New York City Center Encores! He has played principal roles in many productions, including Annie Get Your Gun,The Most,Trouble in Tahiti, September Songs: The Life and Legacy of Kurt Weill, and Ragtime.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Daniel performed regularly for five seasons with the Oratorio Society of New York and the choir of The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City.

led by Dr Alexander Norris

Jazz Trumpeter, composer, and educator Alex Norris is a Maryland native, and a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory. For the last 20 years, he has performed, toured, and recorded all over the world in a multitude of settings as both a sideman and leader. He has appeared at An Die Musik over the last several years as a member of both local groups and international touring acts. Currently residing in New York, Alex maintains an active performing schedule. Simultaneously, he commutes here to Baltimore regularly, where he is a member of the Jazz faculty at the Peabody Conservatory.
