Spanish guitarist Oscar Peñas (www.oscarpenas.com) has attracted a wide variety of fans through his unique combination of classical, Spanish folk music and Brazilian grooves over an American jazz base.

Peñas second album in the USA, is "Music of Departures and Returns featuring Paquito D'Rivera, Gil Goldstein and Esperanza Spalding.

Meng-Sheng Shen Piano Recital

Praised as an artist of remarkable sensitivity and clarity (Cleveland Plain Dealer), pianist Meng-Sheng Shen’s recent awards include Gold Medal from the Koussevitzky Young Artist Award in New York and First Prize from the International Chopin Piano Competition in Taipei.
Shen earned both his Master and Bachelor of Music degrees from The Juilliard School with Jerome Lowenthal and Yoheved Kaplinsky, and is pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Peabody Institute under the guidance of Boris Slutsky. Shen was a faculty member in Secondary Piano at Juilliard and a current Graduate Assistant in piano and keyboard studies at Peabody.

HD QUINTET

The HD Quintet was started by two students in the jazz studies program at SUNY Purchase, Alex Hamburger and Nicole Davis (hence the name HD). While the group formed at SUNY Purchase, its members come from all over.

The group plays and hosts a jam session regularly, as well as plays around the NY area at venues such as Silvana's, The Shrine and The Falcon, and they also played in DC at Twins Jazz and the Mid Atlantic Jazz Fest. The HDQ has an EP which was recorded in May 2015 and will be releasing a full length album sometime in the next year.
