The Don Braden Quintet features Don Braden on tenor saxophone, flute, and alto flute, Vanessa Rubin on vocals, Brandon McCune on piano, Kenny Davis on bass, and Cecil Brooks III on drums.

Join us for the opening concert of our 25th season! Don Braden is a renowned saxophonist, composer, arranger and highly experienced educator. Currently the Music Director of the Litchfield Jazz Camp, Braden has toured the world leading his own ensembles and as a sideman with greats such as Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams and Roy Haynes. His imaginative yet technically excellent approach to improvisation creates a sound full of harmonic and rhythmic sophistication. His goal? To express a contemporary point of view in the powerful, spiritual, intelligent, and (most importantly) swinging Jazz style. www, donbraden, com

This quintet will feature the liquid phrasing of Vanessa Rubin, one of the most gifted and seasoned Jazz vocalists of her generation.  http://www.vanessarubin.com/

Released in September! Check out Braden's newest album, Luminosity.
