Unexpected Places 4/For Unexpected Aerials: While U Wait

with Mara Neimanis & ellen cherry

On Saturday night just as the sun dips behind the horizon, cellist ellen cherry​ climbs to the top curl of the B on BUS to commence the second of a two part commissioning series with aerialist Mara Neimanis.​ This work explores the complicated balancing act that can be urban living. ellen will be using cello, voice and field recordings made on Baltimore bus lines while Mara, inside of the U, hangs off rigging specially constructed by metal work mad scientist, Tim Scofield. Together, they will perform three unique new works: Daydream Of a Bus Driver, While U Wait, and Raven. Info


The Lomax Project

Alan Lomax is the Nation’s most celebrated folklorist, who traveled the back roads and byways to document the music of the people. Join us for a celebration of his legacy led by banjo virtuoso Jayme Stone. Expect Appalachian fiddle tunes to sea chanties representing the extraordinary, ordinary culture bearers that Lomax worked with. Tickets & Info

 


Neighborhood Voices

A bilingual workshop presenting artistic expression against racism featuring spoken word artist Henry Mills. Members of No BS! Brass Band collaborate with participants to create new music in response to racism, oppression, and healing. Info

 

 


Weather Warlock

SUN SEP 20 | 6:30PM

Quintron erects a weathervane outside of the building which uses elements to control a monster analog synth inside called the Weather Warlock. He performs at sunset with Ami Dang, MC Schmidt, Bonnie Jones, Gary Wrong, and Aaron Hill. Aptly, HD Sunrise closes the night. Don’t miss this one!  Tickets & Info
