New York-based artist Sara VanDerBeek returns to her hometown of Baltimore to discuss how memory, materials, and a sense of place come together in Front Room: Sara VanDerBeek closing September 20.

World renowned ceramicist Magdalene Odundo speaks on traditional hand-building techniques from around the globe. See the UK-based artist's sinuous sculpture on view in the new African Art galleries before the talk.

Baker Artist Awards 2014 & 2015

WHEN: Opening September 16

The 2014 and 2015 winners of the $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize and up-to-$5,000 b-grants present artworks that embrace a diverse range of media: sculpture, film, video, photography, music, and mixed media installations, some of which reference contemporary issues.

The Baker Artist Awards were established by the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund in 2008, and are a program of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance. This exhibition is generously funded by The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund.

New Arrivals: Photographs from the O'Neil Collection

WHEN: Opening September 20

The powerful photographs by contemporary masters and new talents speak to environmental issues and offer sensitive studies of the human experience.
The exhibition features 18 photographs that were part of a major gift from Baltimore collectors Tom and Nancy O'Neil and kicks off a new series of exhibitions drawn from the more than 3,000 gifts of art that the Museum acquired during the Campaign for Art leading up to its 100th anniversary.
