Jordan Faye Contemporary & Thrive at 218 W Saratoga

Jordan Faye Block celebrates her Ten Year history as a gallerist & curator with a Ten Year Anniversary exhibition

Ten years ago on November 12, 2004, Jordan Faye Block opened her first commercial gallery in Baltimore, it opened with an exhibition of two artists, Robert Sparrow Jones & Jim Condron. Ms. Block ran Gallery Imperato for the next two years: curating 15 exhibitions there and successfully graduating with her Master's of Fine Arts from MICA in 2005. In November of 2006, Jordan Faye Contemporary was founded. Since that very first exhibition 100 additional exhibitions have been curated by Jordan in Baltimore; she's taken the gallery to 7 international art fairs in the last 3 years, and while the gallery has moved a few times over the last 8 years, they've continually been expanding their programming and raising the bar in Baltimore and in major cities across the country. Last month, she and her assistant director, Willa Frazer, founded a new program for emerging artists; moving both Jordan Faye Contemporary and this new program THRIVE into a 3300 square foot exhibition center on the top floor of the Maryland Art Place Building in the heart of the Bromo Arts District. We invite you to join us on November 22, for an exhibition highlighting a selection of artists that Jordan has worked with over the last ten years. Artists include Robert Sparrow Jones, Kate MacKinnon, Lori Larusso, James Rieck, David Page, Christine Bailey, Jenee Mateer, Lawrence Cromwell, Donald Edwards, Lisa Dillin, Lat Naylor, Scott Ponemone, Edie Nadelhaft and Magnolia Laurie.

TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY opens Saturday November 22 with a reception from 7 – 10 PM. It will be on view through January 3, 2015. This exhibition takes place in the West Gallery and Front Room of Jordan Faye Contemporary. It also coincides with a tradition that Jordan began 8 years ago, her annual Small Wonders holiday exhibition which will be on view in the East Gallery. Artists in Small Wonders are Lori Larusso, Jim Doran, Geraldine Bullock, Steve Parke, Elisabeth Gambino, Sanzi Kermes, Maureen Farrell and Willa Frazer.
