At the Walters, conservators examine, analyze, and treat the collections, enhancing our understanding of art and the people who created it. They also select the best materials and environments for preservation, ensuring that the artwork survives for future generations.

Creative Crafts Taught by Mosaic Makers

This weekly art group will introduce people to traditional crafts like paper making and batik, to experimenting with mixed media and fabrics. Our goal is to try different art making that people in the group have always wanted to do. We will ask during the classes what kind of art work each participant is interested in working on and fit that into our fun weekly art group. There is a list of art project ideas, but this can change to the desires of the class. No need to “feel like an artist” or have previous experience with art. Just come to give yourself some special time, come to discover something new and fun, and enjoy meeting some crafty neighbors!
