Getz/Gilberto, released in 1964, was the first jazz album to win Best Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards (1965) and the last one until Herbie Hancock's The River in 2008. It also won for Best Instrumental Jazz Album, included the million-selling "Girl from Ipanema" and pioneered the use of bossa nova and samba in jazz.
