This Saturday, we welcome Andrea Casarrubios, cello & Ronaldo Rolim, piano, with a program of works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Britten.
On Sunday afternoon, enjoy and afternoon with Cellist Carolyn Rosinski and pianist Chris Lennard They will perform works by Bach, Schubert, Grieg, and Brahms.

A native of Spain, Andrea Casarrubios began to play the piano at the age of two under the guidance of composer María Escribano and continued with pianists Ludmil Angelov, Seth Knopp and Bernadene Blaha in Tolededo, Baltimore and Los Angeles.  She studied at Peabody and at University of Southern California.

Andrea is a founding member of Trio Appassionata, along with violinist Lydia Chernicoff and pianist Ronaldo Rolim. The trio has worked with the Miró, Orion and Bretano Quartets and performed in Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in 2011 among other venues in the U.S, Spain and Italy. The ensemble just completed a CD with four American Piano Trios “gone into night are all the eyes” to be released in 2014 on Odradek Records. Andrea is also an active new music performer and has premiered several contemporary pieces. 

Described by newspaper El Norte (Monterrey, Mexico) as a musician with “a special capability of moving the listener through his interpretations,” Brazilian pianist Ronaldo Rolim is a prominent figure among the newest generation of outstanding musicians. Winner of more than 30 awards in competitions around the globe, his latest accolades include top prizes at the Bösendorfer, San Marino and James Mottram International Piano Competitions.

In 2007, Ronaldo was admitted at the Peabody Conservatory as a student of Benjamin Pasternack, and after six years of intense activities he pursued the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees, besides the prestigious Artist Diploma. Among his most significant accomplishments at Peabody Ronaldo has received the Pauline Favin Memorial Award in Piano, the 1st prize at the Harrison Winter Piano Concerto Competition, the Douglas and Hilda Goodwin Scholarship for Chamber Music and the 2012 Presser Award.

Cellist Carolyn Rosinsky has performed extensively and has also served as musical director of student a-capella groups, coached chamber music, and conducted student and chamber orchestras. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and completed her Master of Music degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2012, where she studied with David Kenedy on a Trinity College of Music Trust Scholarship. Previously, she studied with Alison Wells, Ilya Finkelshteyn and Fiona Thompson.

Chris Lennard played piano, percussion, and bass guitar professionally in his hometown of Seattle, until moving to Baltimore in 2012. Chris received a Bachelors in Music Education and a Bachelors in Classical Percussion, and while at the University of Washington was a student of Thomas Collier and Michael Crusoe. He was also a piano student of Willard Schultz, a percussion student of David Reeves, and a bass guitar student of Dan Dean. He is a member of the Johns Hopkins Orchestra.
