Summer Camp and Snow Camp are week-long annual intensive programs, hosted by the Strand Theater Company, that focus on cultivating and enriching the artistic practice of directing new work. Will Davis and Michael Rau lead the all activities, building on their successful intensive as part of the NNPN/Kennedy Center’s MFA Playwrights’ Workshop during the summer of 2013.

Archeology of Whimsy
[working title]

From April 6th to the 19th, Jamila Reddy and Lian Walden will be in residence at The Strand devising a new piece, The Archeology of Whimsy [working title].

They are looking for artistic collaborators from all disciplines—photography, dance, animation, music, circus, etc.—to work with them throughout the two weeks. You do NOT need to be available for the entire duration of the workshop. For more info check out the

The Strand is looking for a director for our upcoming production of RUST by Kirsten Greenidge. If you are interested, send your resume to Elissa at  She will send you production dates, a script, and set up a time to meet and discuss the play and your vision for the production. Our directors receive a small fee for their work. We are unfortunately not able to provide housing at this time.
