Lisa Sokolov is a frontline New York jazz vocalist, improviser and composer. Known for her pioneering tonal, timberal and expressive range. Her work embraces the best of new music, soul, jazz and sacred music.

Lisa’s son, Jake Sokolov-Gonzalez, is a cellist, pianist and composer. A recent graduate from Bard College’s music department, Jake received several music awards including 2013 Margaret Shafer Music Performance award.

Whether as a trumpeter, composer, writer or spoken word artist, Charmaine Michelle has a passion for using her creative gifts to uplift and enlighten her audiences.  In 2010, she entered Peabody Conservatory’s Jazz Studies Program, headed by legendary saxophonist Gary Thomas.  During her matriculation at Peabody, Ms. Michelle was the recipient of the Noble Levi Jolley Sr. Jazz Scholarship and studied under trumpet player-Joe Burgstaller (formerly of the Canadian Brass).

While Peabody provided Ms. Michelle with a strong foundation in Jazz theory, she truly blossomed when she was given a special invitation to join the Dunbar Alumni Band under the director of legendary jazz educator, Charles Funn. Ms. Michelle also now takes lessons from 2nd place Monk Winner, Quamon Fowler, as well as Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Baltimore Symphony-Rene Hernandez.

The Eri Yamamoto Trio has developed a unique sound and repertoire, and has built a strong following in New York and abroad.  Since moving to the United States in 1995, Eri Yamamoto has established herself as one of jazz's most original and compelling pianists and composers. Jazz legend Herbie Hancock has said, “My hat’s off to her… already she’s found her own voice.”


Linda Oh Quartet

This stellar group will play the music of Oh’s second CD release as a leader "Initial Here" and will feature Dayna Stephens (Gretchen Parlato, Kenny Barron), pianist Fabian Almazan (Terence Blanchard) and Justin Brown on drums.
