Dance THIS! a new festival celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of the dance form in our region hits the boards at Creative Alliance this weekend. From young dance dynamo Lily Kind's showcase of her company's "diaspora" to The Collective's innovative night of small company, short performances and Dance Baltimore's world music showcase the weekend offers unparalleled dance riches in Baltimore in August as well and a healthy shot of AC!

Effervescent Collective, the swaggest team of locally grown contemporary dancers and dance-makers that Baltimore currently boasts, is reeling in a re-union of dancers launched from Effervescent's orbit, coming home to perform for  ONE NIGHT ONLY; Cheslea Murphy (Philadelphia), Laura Grossman (Chicago) and Sierra Daselvia (Syracuse). Effervescent founder Lily Kind has worked with Dan Deacon and is a bit of a muse to emerging artists of the Station North arts district many of whom take her signature dance classes.

The Collective, Baltimore's hub for professional dance, alongside Dishibem Traditional Contemporary Dance Group (Baltimore) and Christopher K.
