FREE CONCERT PRESENTS BRAHMS IN AN ATYPICAL WAY

Sundays at Central Concert Series presents Atypical Brahms
WHEN: Sunday, May 19, at 3 PM
WHERE: Central Presbyterian Church, 7308 York Rd., Towson
ADMISSION: Free

You have all heard the Brahms German Requiem, but in this concert you will hear it in a very atypical way though still from the pen of Brahms himself.

The setting you will hear is the rarely performed choir with piano-four-hands version that Brahms personally prepared for a premiere in London on July 18, 1871. This is not merely a piano reduction; it was meticulously fashioned by the composer. The German Requiem will be sung in English just as it was done for the 1871 performance.
