Baltimore Clayworks would like to invite all of our students from the Summer of 2012 to the Spring of 2013 to be a part of our student show. We are proud to feature our students from the past year with the exhibition Clay from the Classroom. The 17th Annual Exhibition Showcasing the Talents and Triumphs of our Students. This exhibition runs from June 1 through June 15, 2013.
Showcased will be wheel-thrown functional ware, hand-built sculpture and figures created by children and adults. A variety of finishing techniques are employed; high and low-fire glazes, wood, salt, pit and electric firing. All work has been created on-site in Mt Washington and at our satellite studios at Jubilee Art Center, Tuerk House and The Zeta Center Healthy Active Aging through our classes offered for beginners and advanced student-artists in all stages of life.
The show is a great opportunity for clay students from the previous year to exhibit their finest work and showcase their talents. Please join us and help make this student show better than ever before. This exhibition is open to all ages and skill levels. In order to participate, your work must have been made and completed through your participation in classes led by Baltimore Clayworks between June 2012 and May 2013.
Work will be received Monday, May 20, through Saturday, May 25. Gallery hours are Monday – Wednesday 10 AM–5 PM, Thursday-Friday 10-7, Saturday 12-5. All works must be delivered to the gallery building. If the delivery times do not work with your schedule, you may contact Mary Cloonan at:firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a drop-off time and place. All unsold work must be picked up June 17-19 10-5 PM, June 20-21, 10-7 PM.
Please pack your work carefully in a reusable box, labeled with your name, for safe transport, storage and re-delivery! Paper or plastic shopping bags are not acceptable delivery containers. Please label the bottom of your work with your name or initials and inventory number using stickers or tape.
*As a special treat, Orchester Prazevica, will be performing during the opening. Orchester Prazevica plays Slovak, Gypsy, Yugoslav and Romanian popular and folk tunes as well as original compositions in a style of Turbo Folk - high energy dance music drawing on the tradition of Czardas and Gypsy Swing, but widely influenced by jazz and blues.
