The 2nd Annual Charm City LGBT Film Festival returns to Baltimore. All screenings and related events with take place at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson, located in the Highlandtown Arts District of East Baltimore.
Spanning four evenings, the Festival will screen seven recent and critically recognized feature, documentary, and short films that candidly reveal queer culture, explore civil rights issues, and celebrate gay pride. This year's film lineup includes Cloudburst, a bittersweet love story of an aging lesbian couple, portrayed by Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck) and Brenda Fricker (My Left Foot). In addition, I Am Divine documents the life of Baltimore's own Harris Glenn Milstead, aka Divine, whose acting work in several John Waters' films led to underground stardom. "Our second annual festival brings together seven exceptional films that are at turns hilarious, riveting, heart-breaking and sexy," says the festival's film curator KJ Mohr. "Together, they will delight and enlighten, no matter where you fall on the Kinsey scale!"
The 2nd Annual Charm City LGBT Film Festival is made possible by presenting sponsor Robbye Apperson, and by Festival sponsors Towson University and its College of Fine Arts and Communication, Equality Maryland, AIDS Action Baltimore, Inc., Lord Baltimore Hotel, and Redhead Companies.
