THE LEGENDARY FREDDIE REDD AND FRIENDS SUMMER SERIES
WHEN: July 24 - Tuesday, 8 PM
TICKETS: $10/$5 students

Join the legendary hardbop composer and pianist Freddie Redd for his Tuesday night Summer Residency. Each week will feature Freddie Redd at the piano, along with saxophonist Brad Linde and a different cast of young and up-coming musicians, performing standards and Freddie's original music. Stay for the last set when the performance is opened up to a jam session, inviting musicians to sit-in.

The series will continue on July 31, August 7, August 14, August 21, and August 28

Alexei Tartakovski, piano

Called “a thoughtful and serious musician” by the New York Concert Review, Alexei Tartakovski is one of the most promising young talents of his generation.  He first brought attention to his artistry by winning top prizes at the New York Piano Competition, the Rolf and Brigitte Gardey International Piano Competition in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the American Fine Arts Festival (AFAF) in a one year span during 2006-2007.

As the first prize winner of AFAF, Alexei performed at the Weill Recital hall at Carnegie Hall.  Since then he has given numerous solo and chamber music recitals in the United States, Russia, Canada, Holland, and England.

Alexei is currently pursuing his Master’s degree as a full scholarship student at the Peabody Institute with Boris Slutsky.
