ABOVE: Fall 2011 guitar performance by Ben Beirs
As Jordan Faye Contemporary continues its mission to promote the visual arts and give artists a wider audience, we've also decided to expand upon this mission to include emerging contemporary musicians as part of our program. We are proud to include Duo Transatlantique in our 2012 musical program.
Formed in 2002 after Maud Laforest and Benjamin Beirs met while studying at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University here in Baltimore. The duo has since performed around France, the United Kingdom, and the Eastern United States, winning first prize in the Guitar Duo Competition of the Union Francaise des Artistes Musiciens in 2005. They were also selected for the Worcestershire Classical Guitar Society's 2010 New Artist's Scheme, which included a tour in England. We are delighted to showcase this duo's classical guitar talent.
