Three of a Kind: Your Songs
Celebrate the best of years past and ring in the new year with local sensation, Three of a Kind.
Jonny Lewis, Leslie Pomerantz, and Michael Hoffman are Three of a Kind, three good friends who love to weave beautiful acoustic harmonies together. They enjoy singing a wide variety of music ranging from Carole King, Harry Chapin, The Eagles and James Taylor to the Indigo Girls, Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Grateful Dead.
By day, they are professionals in the community, but by night, they are Three of a Kind.
Inspired by the sounds and rhythms of Argentina, Cuba and Brazil, Bossalingo performs their original music with passion, using the common language of Jazz improvisation to unite all of these amazing styles into an unforgettable experience for the listener.
The group performs selections from the recent Bossalingo release, Steps Beyond, as well as some earlier originals from the first record and various Jazz standards. The styles of Tango, Jazz, Rumba, Samba, Milongo, Bossa Nova, Tumbao and Guaguanco are all featured throughout the show.
The current line-up features Baltimore composer/guitarist, Michael Joseph Harris, Didier Prossaird on piano, bassist Leonardo Lucini and drummer Mike Kuhl.
"Harris's playing reflected Latin, jazz, folk and rock influences. Throughout the night, his nylon-string acoustic guitar work would prove inventive and melodic, and his guitar solo on the opener was tinged with blues." —from review of Blues Alley performance by Ken Avis, Capital Bop
