Experience "The Visionary" in a whole new way!
Wednesdays & Thursdays this Fall for 3rd-6th grades
The American Visionary Art Museum (a place that pretty much means fun, creativity and surprises) is introducing a fabulous series of AFTER SCHOOL WORKSHOPS that they offer on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 PM (with 3-4 PM as an optional homework hour).
Come hang out at your favorite museum, get up close and personal with some Visionary Art. Have a chance to dig through their treasure trove of "random fun" in creating projects inspired by Visionary Artists and our current exhibition. Meet other students interested in a different kind of art and the only requirement is FUN! For more information and questions contact Felice Cleveland: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Visionary "Round" Up
- Wednesdays: Oct. 12, 19 & 26 (3rd - 6th Grade) OR Thursdays: Oct. 13, 20 & 27 (3rd - 6th Grade)
Come explore our newest mega-exhibition: ALL THINGS ROUND: GALAXIES, EYEBALLS & KARMA. Learn about the fascinating stories behind our artists while creating circular projects inspired by work in the exhibition. Get caught in the roundabout of our Scavenger Hunt and we'll show you all of the ways to think about orbs, globes and spheres! $30, pre-registration and waiver is required.
- Baubles to Bottle Caps: An Exploration of Visionary Materials
- Wednesdays: Nov. 2, 9 & 16 (3rd - 6th Grade) OR Thursdays: Nov. 3, 10 & 17 (3rd - 6th Grade)
Visionary artists are notorious for using unusual materials, both extraordinary and mundane. We have come across artists using toothpicks, toilet brushes, sock threads and pizza boxes—all to create surprising works of art. Students will learn about many of these artists and have the opportunity to dig through our endless bins of "random fun" and create projects with our storehouse of visionary materials! $30, pre-registration and waiver is required.
