Critters Created out of Repurposed Plastic Bottles..
In Wildlights Wildlife critters of the park are created out of repurposed plastic bottles! Water bottles become fish! Milk jugs turn into owls! Floats of bats, serpents, spiders and squirrels glow! Large scale projections light up the night with horses coursing across the Pulaksi Monument and animal eyes and paws peeking out of the bubble over the Ice Rink. Marching bands March: The Westsiders, the Baltimore All Stars and more! Parade faves Sac Au Lait roll out. A cadre of artists from the avant-garde bring their floats and creative talent. Tree Spirit Stilters grow tall! A big fire dancing show closes the Parade! Everyone is invited to create a costume or a lantern and join in the Parade!!!!!
The Halloween Parade Harvest HOOTenanny before the Parade will offer hayrides, food trucks, a pumpkin patch, and free luminaria making! Create your own critter lantern out of recycled bottles and decoupage! Bring bottles and cool paper if you have 'em! If not no problem! We can supply materials, 1 light per person. The Festival will also feature a performance by Sac Au Lait.
Sculptor, performance artist and curator Laure Drogoul was the inaugural winner of Baltimore's prestigious Sondheim Prize in 2006. She is a foundee of the avant performance venue The 14 Karat Cabaret in 1989 and is an organizer and curator of the Transmodern Festival. Laure creates installations and large-scale illuminated sculptures that contain video within them. Her hilarious, often macabre aesthetic is perfectly suited to Halloween! Laure has a Parade studio in the Park, at the Pool House next the Patterson Park Pool!
