Vivre Musicale: Something NEW
Curated by Evan Rogers

Join us at the gallery for a glass of wine during our Happy {ART} Hour WHEN: Friday April 15,  5 – 7 PM
And stay for a musical performance from 7 – 9 PM

Vivre Musicale is a non-profit chamber music society that seeks to offer chamber music to everyone, utilizing various musical genres and art forms that further enhance the concert going experience. Made up of a collection of select young, classically trained artists, Vivre Musicale's goal it is to push the limits of classical music, leading it's audience into a future of living art. Vivre Musicale hopes to diversify it's audience and share concert music with those outside of the traditional classical music scene by continually seeking to make connections between music and other artistic mediums, and through cultural and social influences.

About Something NEW:
Something NEW aims to explore the means by which we as musicians and audience members concertize. The following pieces challenge traditional concert music performance models in the way of instrumentation, improvisation, spatial characteristics, and electronics." —Evan Rogers, curator of Something NEW

Something NEW features works all written in the last decade by living composers, including three world premiere performances. Each piece challenges concert music traditions in its own way. The program includes a new work (2010) by Evan Rogers; Broadcast Recovered from the Room Marked 1930s (2007) by Brian Robison; Sketches in Realization (2005) by Ted Gellar-Goad; and Toy with Me (2009) by David Smooke.
