STUDENT ART ON DISPLAY @ McDANIEL COLLEGE THIS MONTH

The Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition
WHEN: April 5 - April 15;
Opening reception: 7-9 PM, April 5
WHERE
: McDaniel College,
Westminster, MD, 30 miles northwest of Baltimore and 56 miles north of Washington, D.C.

The exhibition is open to all students, who may submit up to five artworks they have done while studying at McDaniel College. Professional artists and art educators serve as the exhibition’s jurors. This year’s judges, painter Jonathan Stonely and sculptor Seth Crawford, select the award winners for the eight awards that are given: Best in Show, First, Second, and Third place, three Honorable Mentions and a Foundation Award that is open to work done in Drawing One (Perceptual Drawing and Design).

Winners will be announced during the opening reception. Work not selected for the juried exhibition is then considered by members of the Art Club to be shown concurrently in the Annual Salon Des Refuse Exhibition. The Salon exhibition is being held at the Carroll Arts Center from April 21-May 11. There will be an opening reception at 6 PM, April 21. at the Carroll Arts Center.

: McDaniel College, Westminster, MD, 30 miles northwest of Baltimore and 56 miles north of Washington, D.C.

The first senior capstone show will feature work from the following students: Tosin Abraham, Kasey Ball, Rachel Baumgarten, Kristin Behrle, Caitlin Buckland, Meg Christian, Joanna Jenkins, Megan Magee and Sarah Reeb. Works on display will feature various media, including colored pencil on paper, acrylic painting, silkscreen prints, etching prints, wires and wax, photography, cut paper, oils and pen on canvas, screen prints, charcoal, chalk, graphite, sewing, hair, lino cuts and stop animation video.
