A PLAGUE OF FLEAS INVADES THE STRAND THEATER AS A PLAY

PictureONE FLEA SPARE
By Naomi Wallace
Directed by Jayme Kilburn

WHEN: April 21 - May 7, 2011*
WHERE:
Strand Theater, 1823 N. Charles Street, Baltimore

On the last day of their quarantine, a wealthy couple’s house is invaded by two strangers—a sailor and a girl who might not be what she seems—and so they must begin another month of quarantine…together. Watched over by their jailor, these four with nothing in common must find a way to survive both the plague and each other. Inspired by the 1992 L.A. Riots, Wallace explores the issues of class and poverty in this highly timely and political play.
