The Reginald F. Lewis Museum brings Maryland African American history and culture to life through its permanent galleries and education programs.  It also shares the broader African American experience through special exhibitions, lectures and a variety of events. 

The museum invites you to attend its current special exhibition Material Girls: Contemporary Black Women Artists, a larger-than-life presentation of three-dimensional sculptures made of beads, tissue paper, plastic and even human hair!  This exhibition was curated by Dr. Michelle Joan Wilkinson, the museum's Director of Collections and Exhibitions, and is on view until October 16, 2011.  For more information about the exhibit, visit the website
