Ann Fessler will present her installation work from the past 10 years and preview her new film, A GIRL LIKE HER, scheduled for release in early 2011. Since the mid-1970s, Fessler has created narrative audio and video installations, photographs, artists’ books and short films that address the impact of mass media and family on women’s lives and intimate relationships.

Newly appointed curator of contemporary art at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Kristen Hileman organized Anne Truitt: Perception and Reflection (2009-10), the first full career museum retrospective of that artist’s work, as one of Hileman’s last projects at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. She has also organized exhibitions of the work of Cai Guo-Qiang (2004-05), Jim Hodges (2005-06) and Oliver Herring (2006).
